Does anyone have a CableCARD Adapters (Series 1 or 2), which fits into a PC slot?

I am building a PC-based DVR (TiVo like unit), but I would like Record HD programming from my cable provider. All the maps I have seen so far use only the air signals. TV set manufacturers to CableCARD slots in TV's I can not believe there is no alternative if anyone has a PC Card Adapter Cable (Series 1 or 2) that fits into a PC slot

Is the DirecTV HD DVR really so bad?

I am thinking about switching from cable DirecTV, as will I do to become a high-definition televisions buy short. I have the Comcast DVR was used mediocre (not as good as TIVO, which I used in the past). How is the interface for the DVR DirecTV?
