I see that from past issues there is an answer for this, but what and where can I set this? I have a Panasonic Viera Plasma TV, DirecTV HD DVR and a Sony Home Theater System Dream. Nothing is more frustrating, then listen to something to start at high volume and then a commercial comes on and shines it was louder. So what can I do to change this?

I am building a PC-based DVR (TiVo like unit), but I would like Record HD programming from my cable provider. All the maps I have seen so far use only the air signals. TV set manufacturers to CableCARD slots in TV's I can not believe there is no alternative if anyone has a PC Card Adapter Cable (Series 1 or 2) that fits into a PC slot
